On February 2, 2025, a one-day chartered cab tour (chartered jumbo cab) will be held at Songyan-ji Temple, known as the family temple of the demoness Momiji.
SETSUBUN is last day of winter in the traditional Japanese calendar (usually 3 or 4 February)
Shougan-ji Temple is also famous for its charms to ward off bad luck. This is a special experience only available at this time of the year.
#1 The tour will also include a traditional Buddhist memorial service and a picture-reading session by Tamae Takezawa of Kariyasan Saiko-ji Temple. Picture-writing is a literary and performing art that uses paintings for the purpose of preaching and chanting. It is believed to have its roots in India and was introduced to Japan from Central Asia, China, and the Korean Peninsula.
Many of the pictorial narratives that draw audiences with the performer's witty and accurate narration have been handed down mainly from temples and shrines.
#2 Special public viewing of the Kannondō
HallThe Shōgan-ji Kannondō Hall, a tangible cultural property designated by Nagano City and normally closed to the public, will be open to the public for a special viewing!
Visitors can see 121 Kannon statues of seven different types up close and personal. Among them, the powerful image of the Horse-headed Kannon is a must-see. Feel its power to burn away your worries and doubts and keep bad things at bay.
#3 The chant is "Fuku wa uchi! All participants will throw beans
at each other. Because there are no ogres in Oninashiri, only “Fuku wa uchi” (meaning “good fortune comes from within”) is used! Let's bring in good fortune and welcome the new year with a smile.
*Tour Participation Fee 5,000 yen：We will ask you to fill out a questionnaire after the tour, and we will bear 2,500 yen of the 7,500 yen fee .

Enjoy learning about the world of Buddhism while looking at the “Rikudo Jigokudo-e,” pictures depicting the afterlife, and the “Ten Kings,” the ten kings who judge us in the afterlife. You will surely be drawn into the world of Tamae Takezawa's light-hearted narration and powerful paintings!

In the event that a customer cancels the contract after the contract has been concluded, a cancellation fee will be charged at the following rate per customer on the trip price. In the case of cancellation of the contract by more than one passenger, the difference in the number of passengers (per vehicle and per room) of the transportation and accommodation facilities will be charged to each of the participating passengers.
In the event of cancellation, a predetermined cancellation fee will be charged based on the pre-discounted tour price.
